Elly right before surgery. They had placed her on a ventilator.

My poor baby has been through so much. Today she endured and is enduring a great deal of pain. Please forgive me for such a short synopsis but I was at the hospital for almost 20 hours and I am very tired. I should have a more comprehensive summation on her tomorrow.

Elly's surgery went okay. She had a bowel obstruction corrected and a portion of her intestine was cut and grafted to correct the intestinal problem. She also had a drain placed to help her with normal leakage.

Her vitals are off as her respirations are high. They are trying to get them to come down and are treating her pain with pain killers. Elly will be asleep all day today and won't wake up until sometime tomorrow.

Now we must just pray for her not to have any post surgical complications such as infections and other things. The next 3-5 days are very critical and will tell us much.

They tell me that Elly will get very bloated even could increase her weight by 1lb but it will all be fluids. I don't think it will be nice because I have been told not to get worried when I see her bloated.

We continue to offer up all of this pain and suffering and joy for all of you and your intentions and for the intentions of our Lord. May He accept this prayer of sacrifice from his little Elly.
