Such is the life of a preemie. Miss Elly has had 2 bad days.

During the past 2 days, Elly has had many, many bradies. She has been forgetting to breathe too much. The doctors had a blood count check to see if this was part of the problem. It turns out she had a low blood count so they gave her a blood transfusion last night. She had 20 Bradies yesterday. They also gave her more caffeeine but this is not working.

They took another blood culture to see if she is developing an infection and have placed her on antibiotics just to be on the safe side. I will find out tomorrow what the early results are. Today, she continued to brady. She had several bradies when I was with her and she just looked uncomfortable to me. She looked more irritated. Her dedicated nurse mentioned to the doctor that her bradies began when she started to feed. Hence, they will no longer feed her to see if this was causing the bradies. Its possible that her belly was getting to full and pushing on her diaphram and therefore, causesd the bradies.

Tonight, they will monitor her and its possible that when I wake up, Miss Elly my Bella will once again be back on the ventilator. This is so typical of preemies, you can't get too excited because they will pull a fast one on you. I would rather have her rested on the ventilator than too tired for her surgery.

The surgery will be on Wed. Sept. 6th as long as there are no complications with her health such as infections. I spoke to the surgeon and ofcourse, he had to tell me all the horrible things that could happen and go wrong during and after surgery. I won't get into all those possibilities but it did scare me.

So, we will see how our little Bella does by morning. I don't mind the ventilator but I definately don't want infections.

She is 2lbs 11oz tonight.

Thank you for all the prayers and God Bless you for your love and support.
