Happy 31 Weeks Elly!!

Elly is 2.10 oz. and 14 inches!!! Yeah , for Miss Elly.

Elly is scheduled for surgery on Wed Sept. 6th. They will be going in to fix the hole in her intestine. From the tests she had done yesterday which included an enema, she does not seem to have any other complications. We hope this will just be a routine surgery for the doctors. I will be spending the night with her on Tuesday and will be there all day Wednesday with her.

Lungs- She continues to progress nicely. She is still on the CPAP and very small amoutns of oxygen. She does have bradies but they are not that many. Her lungs are still getting PT.

Blood- All her blood work is good so far.

Feedings- She is still getting the breast milk and seems to be tolarating it nicely. They stop her feeds every 4 hours to give the belly time to digest and process the milk.

We hope and pray that our little Elly Bella continues to grow and put on weight before her surgery date. The bigger she is the better. One of the nurses said that Elly forgot to read the Preemie Handbook because her little face is so round that she looks like a cherub. Preemies are not supposed to have round faces! She is an angel though.

Thank you for your love and support and prayers,
Gina
