Elly is doing very well today. The best news is that she pooped yesterday!!!! It was a big one too. :) She is finally getting her intestines going. They also increased her feedings to 3 CC's per hour continous. They will continue to increase the milk and decrease the I.V. fluids. She does have some liver damage from this past month and a half of I.V. but it is only temporary. She does have some jaundince and they will be treating her for it.
She continues to drain from her wound but its minimal. She is still on the antibiotics. Tomorrow they will do blood gases and other blood work to see how her blood levels are. She will also have a head scan to make sure every thing is still okay.
She does have eye disease but this is common with preemies. She has another eye check up next week.
I gave Miss Elly my Bella a bath and did Kcare with her and as you can see from this picture, I also was able to cradle her and rock with her for the first time!!!! I so much loved rocking with my girl. It was so wonderful to hold her next to me and rock and sing to her. We were only able to do this for 15 minutes before she was tired but that felt like a life time.
