Elly is now 3 lbs 12 oz. WOW!!

She is 34 Weeks today.

Elly had a terrific day today. She was put off the CPAP for 2 hours. She only had a nasal canula for that amount of time with a little bit of oxygen!!! She is on her way to getting rid of the tubes!!

Elly recieved some more caffeine today to boost her lung power. Her blood looks good.
The drainage from her wound and infection was almost gone.

What a great day for Elly. I am so sure that her friend Mother Teresa of St. Joseph whose feast day is today, had something to do with it. Blessed Mother Teresa of St. Joseph is one of Elly's spiritual friends.

Blessed Mother Teresa of St. Joseph... Pray for us and for Elly!

Mom and Dad arrived in a hurry at the York hospital. It was decided that Elly could no longer live inside mommy so the doctors prepared for her birth.
On August 4th at 4:17am, Elly Therese Pecher was born and the world rejoiced at her birth.

THE NICU
Since Elly was too little to be taken to the regular nursery, the specialists took her to a special room for preemie babies which is called the NICU. Here Elly was put on a ventilator to help her breathe and was given many medicines and monitored carefully to make sure that her tiny little body would be okay. Elly looks a little different than many babies because of all the tubes and machines around and on her but she is still as beautiful as all the babies in the world.
