As I said before, never trust a preemie.

It appears that Elly is headed for surgery on Monday again.

The doctors now believe that her blockage is due to the way her adheasions healed. She is undergoing a dye contrast study that will last till tomorrow. If the results come back the way they think, she is scheduled for surgery on Monday morning.

She also has a small section of the scar that has come open. They are taking measures to see to it that it does not get infected.

I was able to do K Care with her. It is so wonderful to hold her so close to me. She gives me so much strength.

She is 3 lbs 4 oz and is doing well off the

ventilator.

Please pray that she heals properly this time around if she needs further surgery.

I will post again tomorrow to let you know if she needs another surgery.

Mom and Dad arrived in a hurry at the York hospital. It was decided that Elly could no longer live inside mommy so the doctors prepared for her birth.
On August 4th at 4:17am, Elly Therese Pecher was born and the world rejoiced at her birth.

THE NICU
Since Elly was too little to be taken to the regular nursery, the specialists took her to a special room for preemie babies which is called the NICU. Here Elly was put on a ventilator to help her breathe and was given many medicines and monitored carefully to make sure that her tiny little body would be okay. Elly looks a little different than many babies because of all the tubes and machines around and on her but she is still as beautiful as all the babies in the world.
